General Information
Saint-Lazare and Les Cèdres residents only
In 2023, back for a 24th summer season, the program of facilitated access aims to promote accessibility to day camp for Saint-Lazare children living with a motor, hearing, visual or intellectual disability. The program encourages the integration of children in day camp activities while benefiting from the special follow-up required by their condition.
Objectives and explanation of the program
Allow children living with disabilities:
• have a positive integration experience at the day camps of Town of Saint-Lazare;
• to be physically present and actively involved in the social life, and therefore in the activities and interactions that occur in the group;
• participate, take responsibilities and follow the same rules as all members of the group.
The service offered is not a specialized service. It is an integration and inclusion service in the day camp program.
The accompanist therefore has for role:
• to promote integration by adapting the activities and the course of the day according to the abilities and needs of the child;
• to be a figure of authority for the child;
• to ensure the safety and the integrity of the child throughout his stay at the day camp.
My child:
• Has been diagnosed or is in the process of an evaluation
• Benefit from an intervention plan at school/daycare
• Daily needs the support of an adult
In order to:
• Manage his emotions (anxiety, impulsivity ...)
• Communicate his needs
• Enter into an appropriate relationship with peers
• Participate actively in a group game
• Understand and respect a directive
• Use a technical help (pictogram, adapted material ...)
• Meeting one's needs for hygiene, nutrition or health
Elligibility
If you are the parent of a child in Saint-Lazare who has a handicap, aged 5 to 12 (as of September 30), you are eligible for this program. In order to suit the needs of your child, the registration form must be filled every year. You must have a valid Accès Saint-Lazare card to register.
